According to the "Jordan Times" reported on December 7, Jordan and Saudi Arabia signed a memorandum of understanding on implementing a grid interconnection project between the two countries. The memorandum was signed by representatives of both Jordanian National Power Corporation (NEPCO) and Saudi Arabia by the State Grid Corporation.
Both representatives said that the interconnection between the power grids of the two countries will increase the stability and security of the power system and provide a reliable source of electricity for consumers in both countries. The cooperation between the two sides will allow both sides to move toward the electricity open market of neighboring countries, which will help ensure the country's electricity supply and promote economic development.
